SEO & AI Search
People still search on Google, but more and more often they read an AI-generated answer. I work on both fronts: ranking in traditional results and being present in assistant answers.

SEO, Search Engine Optimization, aims to place a page among the search results and earn the click. GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, aims to have the content of that page understood, summarised and quoted inside an AI-generated answer, where there is often no list of links to choose from.
The two share most of the work: a technically sound site, accurate content and consistent company information serve both. GEO adds attention to format: direct definitions, questions followed by self-contained answers, verifiable facts, and passages that still make sense when lifted out of the page. Nobody can guarantee presence in a generated answer; what you can do is make the content easier to use as a source.
Who this is for
SEO works on the content of the site: if the technical base needs rebuilding, start from the website itself; for immediate presence on the same searches, consider a Google Ads campaign.
Problems I solve
The solution
Before writing any content I check what is stopping the site from being found: indexing, URL structure, speed, duplicate content, internal links, structured data.
Then I work on real demand: which words people use, with what intent, at which stage of the decision. That produces a page and content structure covering the searches that can generate customers.
GEO, Generative Engine Optimization, is the newest part: organising information so an AI system can understand, summarise and quote it correctly when answering a user. In practice it requires clear content, verifiable information, consistent company data across sources and a structure that answers specific questions.
What is included
Concrete benefits
Visits from people searching for exactly what you offer.
Unlike advertising, rankings keep working when you are not spending on campaigns.
Structured, consistent information that machines can read too.
Actions ordered by impact and effort, with nothing done for its own sake.
Comparison
| Aspect | Traditional SEO | GEO (generative engines) |
|---|---|---|
| Expected outcome | A position in the search results and traffic to the site. | A citation or mention inside a synthesised answer. |
| Main levers | Technical SEO, keywords, content, internal links, Local SEO. | Clarity of definitions, question-and-answer structure, consistent company data, structured data. |
| How it is measured | Impressions, clicks and positions in Google Search Console; conversions in Analytics 4. | Brand mentions in answers, traffic from assistants, direct enquiries. Measurement is still partial. |
| Together | They work as one: GEO without a solid SEO base has nothing to quote, and content written to be quotable also performs in traditional results. | |
How I work
The same sequence applies to a website, a campaign and an automation project. It keeps decisions traceable and avoids work done for its own sake.
I study your market, your competitors, the data you already have and how enquiries reach you today. Without analysis, every decision is guesswork.
We define measurable goals, priorities and budget. We decide what comes first and what can wait, in a written plan you can actually read.
Structure, content, interfaces and conversion paths are designed before a single line of code is written or a campaign goes live.
I build the website, campaigns, automations and tracking, with quality checks on speed, accessibility and data accuracy.
We review results with real data and act where it matters. The work does not end at launch.
